Hotel Asterisk B.V. (hereinafter: Hotel Asterisk) processes personal data for the purpose of processing your booking.

Without your name, address, town/city, email address and credit card details, it is not possible to make a booking with Hotel Asterisk. These fields are therefore mandatory when making an online booking.

In addition, we process personal data in accordance with legal obligations, including Article 438 of the Criminal Code – the obligation to keep a night register, for which you must present a valid travel document or proof of identity on arrival – and the legal obligation to issue invoices.

Finally, we process personal data to request feedback following your stay, but only if you have given your consent to this.

Disclosure to third parties
We do not disclose your personal data to third parties unless there is a legal basis for doing so, you have given your consent, or it is necessary in the context of (debt recovery) proceedings.

Protection of personal data
All persons who process personal data on behalf of Hotel Asterisk are bound by a duty of confidentiality and have been made aware of the importance of protecting personal data.

You can make a booking through various online travel agencies, such as Hoteliers, Booking.com and Expedia. They transmit your personal data via an encrypted and secure connection.

Retention period for personal data
Hotel Asterisk does not retain your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purpose of the processing. The retention periods are laid down by Dutch law. A retention period of seven years applies to invoices and financial records.

Footage from the security cameras will be destroyed within 7 days at the latest, unless there are criminal elements involved – in which case the footage will be retained for as long as the investigation is ongoing and/or the competent authority so directs.
