Welcome to Hotel Asterisk, a family-run boutique hotel in the centre of Amsterdam, where hospitality, quality and personalised service are our top priorities. Situated on a quiet, traffic-calmed street, right in the cultural heart of the city, our hotel is the ideal choice for travellers who want to experience the energy of a global city without compromising on comfort and tranquillity.
Our hotel is housed in four recently renovated nineteenth-century buildings, all of which have a lift.

As a family-run business, we know better than anyone how important personal attention is. For almost fifty years, we have been proudly welcoming guests from all over the world. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, we are fully committed to making your stay carefree and unforgettable. You’ll experience the warmth and intimate atmosphere of a family-run business, combined with the quality and professionalism you’d expect from a boutique hotel.
Fresh, local and with a story behind them
Breakfast is served from 07:00. We work in partnership with Verboom Bakery, which, like us, is a family business. Every morning, they deliver fresh croissants, quark buns, oat cakes, cheese pastries, banana bread and other products to us. Their quark buns are famous. People come from all over the Netherlands to visit the bakery. Prefer something lighter? Yoghurt with granola or muesli is also available.

Hotel Asterisk stands for hospitality in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. As the third generation of Asterisk, we do everything we can to ensure our guests have a carefree stay. As brother and sister, we share not only a strong bond, but also a common vision for our hotel.
As we both grew up in the hotel and still live there, we are deeply committed to it. We deal with complaints or minor repairs quickly and personally. Our shared passion for the business ensures stability and continuity.
Every year, we renovate a number of rooms and continue to expand our services. We take your feedback seriously – your suggestions help us to constantly improve our hotel.
